Ben Frenken graduated from the Schulich School of Law in Halifax in 2012 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 2013 where he completed articles. Ben was called to the Alberta bar in 2015 on moving to Calgary to join Code Hunter LLP.
Mr. Frenken represents clients at all levels of court in Alberta, trial and appeal.
He counsels corporations (including condominiums and not-for-profits) and individuals on civil, regulatory, corporate, governance, compliance, employment and defamation matters – whether with a view to avoiding or resolving disputes. Mr. Frenken provides audit and advice to companies on managing and protecting confidential information and other privacy matters.
Mr. Frenken acts for plaintiffs and defendants, including in class actions, on commercial disputes in a variety of industries from construction and transportation to energy and product manufacturing and distribution, and for insurers by subrogated recovery.
Mr. Frenken holds a designation as a Qualified Construction Adjudicator from the ADR Institute of Canada.
Background
Mr. Frenken studied classics and law in Halifax. Along with several classmates, Mr. Frenken founded the Weldon Literary Moot Society while studying at the Schulich School of law, in support of Halifax Humanities 101.
