Alex maintains a diverse civil litigation practice representing individuals and corporations with an emphasis on resolving professional negligence, defamation, product liability, construction, and employment disputes in a creative and client-focused manner.
Background
Since joining Code Hunter as a summer student in 2018 (and being admitted to the bar in 2021), Alex has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta (trial and appeal), the Federal trial and appeal courts, the superior courts of BC and Ontario, and the Ontario Human Rights Commission. A born-and-raised Calgarian, Alex studied sociology and law at the University of Calgary. During law school, she received the Alan D. Hunter Award in Evidence, the Judith R. Norman Memorial Award in Family Law and Negotiation, and the Christopher G. Thomas Q.C. Memorial Prize in Wills and Estates and had the honour of undertaking clinical studies with the Alberta Human Rights Commission.
Community Service
A passionate patron of the arts (and sometimes-artist herself), Alex sits on the Board of Directors of The GRAND, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing community-focused artistic experiences and opportunities within the oldest — and most storied — performing arts theatre in Western Canada.
